This is a short version written to match what AOW actually does today. A lawyer-reviewed version will replace it before the app officially launches.
Welcome to AOW. By using the AOW app or website, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.
1. About AOW
AOW (All Our Worlds) is made up of the AOW app and the website all-our-world.com, and is operated from Melbourne, Australia.
2. Accounts
- There are two kinds of account. Pet accounts post and check in from the pet's point of view; human accounts can browse, interact and ask questions in Human Q&A.
- The main character of a pet account is your animal. You must own or lawfully care for that animal.
- Each phone number can hold at most two accounts (one main account and one pet account).
- Keep your account secure and do not lend it to others. Details such as your legal name and microchip number can only be changed once a year.
3. Community rules
- Keep it genuine and lawful. Animal cruelty is strictly forbidden, as are sexual, illegal, misleading, infringing, abusive or disturbing content and spam.
- You can report anything that breaks these rules in the app. We handle every report and tell the reporter the outcome. Content that breaks the rules is removed, and serious or repeated breaches can lead to an account being restricted or banned.
4. Your content
You own what you post. So that AOW can show and share it, you give AOW a free, worldwide licence to use that content within AOW (storing it, showing it to other users and formatting it for different screens). The licence ends when you delete the content, except where others have already shared it.
5. Check-ins, the giving pool and rewards
- Check-in photos are verified on our servers. Using toys, photos of screens or other people's photos to game check-ins or rewards voids the reward and may get the account banned.
- Giving pool: for every post with a photo or video, and every live stream of 10 minutes or more, AOW puts 0.1 in local currency into the giving pool for your region (up to 10 times per account per day). 2% of every tip, live gift and post boost also goes into the pool. AOW donates the pool to local animal welfare organisations each quarter and publishes the receipts. The pool belongs to no individual and cannot be withdrawn.
- Specific events and rewards follow the rules shown in the app at the time.
6. Paw Coins, tips and earnings
- Paw Coins are virtual coins bought in the app through Apple In-App Purchase. They can only be used within AOW (tips, live gifts, post boosts, make-up check-in cards, popularity votes and so on), and cannot be exchanged for cash or transferred.
- Paw Coin purchases are not refundable for change of mind, except where the law requires a refund. Refunds through Apple follow Apple's rules.
- Tips you receive are recorded as your earnings and can be withdrawn as described in the app. Withdrawals are made through Stripe, which will ask you to verify your identity. Withdrawals for the China region are not open yet.
7. The shop and bookings
- Products in the shop are sold by individual merchants. AOW reviews merchants and listings and provides the platform; shipping, product quality and after-sales service are first the merchant's responsibility.
- Our returns process is still being finalised. If something goes wrong, contact the merchant first, or reach AOW support in the app and we will help. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law or other laws.
- A store booking made through AOW is an arrangement between you and the merchant; AOW passes on the details and sends the notifications.
8. Health, insurance and travel information
- AI readings of lab results are for reference only and do not replace a vet's diagnosis. If your pet is unwell, please see a vet promptly.
- AOW is not an insurer or an insurance broker. Plans on our insurance pages come from insurers' public information; the insurer's own website is the final word.
- For airline and rail pet policies, AOW only links to the official pages; each company's own website is the final word.
9. Our responsibility
We work hard to keep AOW reliable and secure, but we cannot promise it will never fail or be interrupted. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect loss. Guarantees that cannot be excluded by law, including those under the Australian Consumer Law, are not affected.
10. Suspension and closure
You can stop using AOW at any time and ask us to delete your account. If these terms are breached, we may restrict or close the account concerned.
11. Changes to these terms
We will update these terms from time to time and tell you about important changes in the app. Continuing to use AOW after an update means you accept the updated terms.
