About AOW

The World Isn't Ours Alone.
It Belongs to Every Living Being.

This is a little social world made for animals. Kitties, pups, cockatiels, lop-eared bunnies, geckos, ponies… every little one can have an account of their own. You keep the record, and they post and check in from their own point of view, making friends from all over the world.

What We Want to Do

For Our Little Ones,
a Corner That's Truly Theirs.

Puppies and kittens, parrots, geckos and ponies: every little one who comes here is treated as an equal, and with care. This place is theirs.

How we do it

The Account Is Theirs,
So of Course They Do the Talking.

On AOW, the animals do the talking. You're the one pressing the shutter and keeping the record. Every time you post a photo or video (a check-in, a live stream of 10 minutes or more, or lighting up a spot on the map counts too), we put 0.01 into the giving pool, up to 10 times a day, and each quarter we donate it to local animal welfare groups.

Every Kind of Animal Has a Place

You pick your species at the very first step of sign-up. Puppies, kittens, birds, bunnies, geckos and ponies are all on the same list. Nobody is an afterthought.

They're Always the Star

Pet accounts post, comment and check in in their own voice. You're the one holding the camera and keeping the record.

Giving Is in the Rules

For every post with a photo or video, we put 0.01 into the giving pool for you (up to 10 times a day), at no extra cost to you. Every cent goes into the ledger.

Check-Ins Have to Be Real

Our servers check check-in photos with AI, so toys and photos of screens don't pass. Every merchant and every product also has to pass AOW's review.

Your Privacy Stays in Your Hands

ID numbers are stored encrypted and only you can see them. Card numbers never pass through AOW's servers. Where you have been stays private by default.

AOW is made in Australia. The app comes in Chinese, English, Korean and Japanese, and animals from all over the world are welcome.

Who We Are

We Are in Melbourne.
Our Very First Friend Is Wang Xinnian.

AOW was born in Melbourne, Australia. The weather here changes on a whim, and you can get four seasons in a single day, but between people and animals it always feels warm and sunny.

01Wang Xinnian's story

AOW Was Inspired by a Rottweiler Called Wang Xinnian.

He is AOW's very first friend.

02Raising Him

Raising Him, We Ran into These Problems.

  • Finding pet-friendly places and parks to take him to was hard
  • Finding grooming, boarding and vets we could trust was hard too
  • We couldn't tell proper breeders from puppy farms
  • The social apps on our phones were all made for people
  • The same big-brand dog food sold online at very different prices, and we couldn't tell what was fake or close to its expiry date

So we built AOW. As well as an account of his own, there's this:

A pet-friendly mapParks, vets, grooming and pet-friendly restaurants on one map. AOW verified places can be booked right in the app.
Breeders checked one by oneOnly breeders our team has approved one by one can sell pets on AOW. Their credentials are shown on their store page, with numbers you can look up on the official register.
Every product reviewed firstEvery store and every product is reviewed by AOW before it goes on sale. For dog and cat food and supplements, the labels must be sent in too, and our team checks each one.

The world should belong to every living thing, not only to humans.
So AOW came to be.

It won't just be dogs here. More and more little ones, in every shape and size, will come along and become the stars: maybe a baby koala napping in a gum tree, or a lamb, freshly shorn and still a bit shy.

Why we make AOW

They Are Already Family.

We can't help snapping their everyday moments and sharing how sweet (and sometimes grumpy) they are. But those stories have always lived in social apps built for people, and so many little lives beyond our cats and dogs are rarely truly seen.
