AOW · All Our Worlds
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-09-21
This is a short version written to match what AOW actually does today. A lawyer-reviewed version will replace it before the app officially launches.
This policy explains what information AOW collects, what we use it for, who can see it, how long we keep it, and how you can manage it.
1. Who we are
AOW (All Our Worlds) is a social app where animals live in the first person, together with its website all-our-world.com. AOW is operated from Melbourne, Australia.
For any privacy question, write to hello@all-our-world.com.
2. What we collect
- Account: your email or phone number and password (stored encrypted by our sign-in service; we never see it in plain text). If you sign in with Google, the email and name Google provides.
- Profile: your pet's name, photo, species, breed, birthday, sex, region, bio and AOW ID.
- Real-name and identity checks: your legal name, ID number (stored encrypted) and phone number; microchip and council registration numbers; photos taken for verification when there is no number.
- What you post: posts, photos, videos, live streams, comments, reviews, direct messages, voice messages and group chats.
- Check-in photos: used to confirm that the photo shows a real animal.
- Location: when you turn location on, it is used for the map, nearby places, your places map and sharing a location. Your state or province is used for the "audience regions" summary in post insights; authors only ever see totals, never who.
- Health information: blood type, vaccinations, lab results and health reports, policy records, and the emergency contacts you add (these are other people's names and contact details, so please ask them first).
- Transactions: Paw Coin top-ups, tips, boosts, withdrawals, shop orders and delivery addresses, and store bookings. Card numbers are handled by Apple or Stripe and never pass through AOW.
- Support and reports: your conversations with support, screenshots you send, and reports you submit.
- Devices: the model and system version of devices you sign in on, so you can see them under "Login devices" and sign other devices out.
- Website: one cookie that remembers your language. When you sign in on the website, your session is stored in your own browser. The website has no ad tracking and no third-party analytics.
3. How we use it
- To provide the service: posting, messaging, calls, the map, check-ins, health records, the shop and bookings.
- To keep AOW real and safe: verifying check-in photos and pet identities, spotting reward abuse and impersonation, and handling reports.
- To keep the books: every payment has a ledger entry and an order number; the giving pool is recorded separately for each region.
- To recommend: ordering your home feed by the content preferences you set.
- Voice-to-text happens on your iPhone and is never uploaded to AOW.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not hand it to insurers or advertisers. Our insurance pages simply list insurers' plans; tapping one takes you to the insurer's own website.
4. Who can see what
- Everyone: what is on your pet's profile (name, photo, species and breed, sex, birthday, region, bio and AOW ID) and anything you post publicly.
- Only you: your legal name, ID number, phone number, health records, emergency contacts and delivery addresses. Your places map is private by default and you can change that.
- Only the people in the conversation: direct messages and voice messages.
- Merchants: when you order or book, that business sees what it needs to fulfil it (recipient, address and phone, or the contact details you left with a booking).
- AOW staff: only when reviewing (merchant details, pet verification photos, reports) or helping you through support, and only the information related to that task.
5. Companies that help us run AOW
AOW uses the service providers below. They may process data outside Australia and may only use it as we instruct:
- Database, sign-in and file storage: Supabase (data stored in Sydney, Australia)
- Servers: Render
- Image recognition and AI: Google Cloud Vision and Google Gemini (check-in verification, lab result reading); Kling AI and Tripo (creating your pet's avatar)
- Maps and places: Google Maps, OpenStreetMap, CARTO
- Payments and payouts: Apple, Stripe
- SMS and email codes: Twilio, Resend
- Calls and live streams: LiveKit
- Video music: Epidemic Sound
- Translation: Google Translate
6. How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is in use. After an account is deleted we delete or de-identify your personal information, except transaction and donation records the law requires us to keep, which we hold until that period ends.
7. Your choices and rights
- See and correct: most details can be changed directly in the app (some fields have limits, such as your legal name once a year).
- Delete: write to hello@all-our-world.com or tell us in the app under Help & support. We will confirm it is you and then act on it. In-app account deletion is still being built.
- Withdraw permissions: turn off AOW's access to location, photos, camera or microphone in your phone's settings.
- Complaints: write to us first. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the privacy regulator where you live (in Australia, the OAIC).
8. Security
All keys live only on our servers; ID numbers are encrypted; the database enforces who can see what; payments go through Apple's and Stripe's hosted checkouts. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach is likely to affect your data, we will notify you as the law requires.
9. Changes to this policy
We will update this policy from time to time and tell you about important changes in the app.
