AOW is still young. This page only covers what we already do, so there's plenty of room for us to grow.

For AnimalsKindness That Actually Reaches Them

  • The giving pool is built into the product rules: posts, check-ins, live streams, tips and post boosts all save up for local animal welfare groups.
  • No animal cruelty, ever. You can report anything that looks wrong, and we tell you what we did about it.
  • Check-ins need a real, living animal. Photos are checked on our servers, and toys, ornaments, drawings and photos of screens don't pass.
  • Main food and supplements for dogs and cats need labels and compliance papers before they are listed, and then our team checks each one.

For YouYour Things, Your Call

  • ID numbers are stored encrypted. The keys live only on our servers, the app holds none, and no one else can see them.
  • Where you have been (your places) is private by default. You decide who sees your online status and your following and follower lists.
  • Until you are friends, a stranger can only send you one hello. Our servers enforce it.
  • Payments go through Apple's and Stripe's checkouts. Your card number never passes through AOW.
  • We count website visits ourselves: no cookies, no stored IP addresses, and nothing at all if your browser sends Do Not Track.

Money and RulesEvery Cent Can Be Traced

  • Every payment has a ledger entry and an order number, so it can be traced one by one. Only our servers write to the giving pool ledger. The app can't change it.
  • Every merchant's licence and every product listing has to pass AOW's review, and online stores pay a deposit.
  • We pay a store 7 days after you confirm delivery.
  • Check-in photos are checked on our servers, and one microchip can be linked to two people at most, to stop reward abuse.

Every time AOW grows a little, this page will grow a little longer too.
